Sunsetting Price-Lock

We wanted to let you know that Tensor Foundation decided to discontinue Price Lock starting this month. This wasn't an easy decision, but after careful consideration, they feel it's the right move. Here's why:

  1. Market Challenges: Despite all efforts, Price Locks haven't seen the traction they hoped for.

  2. Maintainability: Price-Lock is by far the most complicated program. Continuous maintenance and support, like adding new NFT standards, is a non-trivial burden. The team would rather focus efforts on higher-value work that can grow the Tensor Ecosystem faster.

Timeline

  • October 9, 2024: Funding and purchasing new Price Locks will be disabled.
  • October 9 - November 2, 2024: Previously bought Price Locks can still be exercised.
  • November 2, 2024: All Price-Lock functions will be disabled and removed from Tensor.Trade and the Tensor API. All remaining user funds will be safely returned. Price Lock will be fully discontinued until further notice.

Note: While Price Lock is being sunsetted for now, Tensor Foundation may choose to bring back the program at a future date.
